The amount of compliance is amazing to me. So much for protecting user data.. As I’ve said before, the surveillance society is a public-private partnership.

Eh, this doesn’t seem too odd. A lot of Google’s traffic comes from the US. I interpret the high compliance rate to mean that most of the US’s requests are reasonable. In fact, it seems Google considers a significantly higher share of US requests to be reasonable than most other high-request countries

Doug is probably right about the traffic. But I’d find it interesting to compare the countries based on user demographics, given that the graph depicts requests for user data. France for instance could become interesting (ie scary): about 5 times less population than the US and probably a significantly lower amount of active internet users, but only about 4 times less government requests!
