    What happened to their children? Are they still in prison?

    @kelly,

    The oldest one, Valentin, was not involved with the regime (he’s a physicist), so, I don’t think he was ever arrested.

    Zoai was a mathematician. She died in 2006. She was arrested and detained for a few months and released. She could not get her job back, so, she retired.

    Nicu was the most politically involved. He was also a fairly scandalous figure. He was arrested several times, sentenced to 20 years but released in 1992. He died of cirrhosis in 1996.
