If that were not bad enough, we have this, which has already made the rounds:

More than ever, all these people in precarious situation would need single-payer health care. This would provide greatly needed relief.

The predictable result is that the level of stratification and inequalities will increase for the American society as there is no social safety net to speak of (except for the wealthy and the corporations, of course). This situation, combined with the health care fiasco really exposes how much the political system is completely non-responsive to the living conditions of the majority of the population.
