Democratic Ticket 2008 – Corporate Version
August 22nd, 2008 by SocProf and tagged Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Politics
So, the Democratic ticket will be Obama (D-Exelon) / Biden (D-MBNA). So much for change and hope. The corporations win.
For those of you who are not up to snuff on Biden, let me refresh your memory:
- Has been in the Senate since 1972 (so, obviously, he will be a bearer of major change and not doing politics as usual)
- Hounded Anita Hill along with the other Old White Guys in the Senate
- Said this about Obama: “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy…I mean, that’s a storybook, man.” But it’s not racist at all, no no no.
- Also said of Obama "I think he can be ready, but right now I don’t believe he is. The presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training."
- He also said "I’ve had a great relationship (with Indian Americans). In Delaware, the largest growth in population is Indian-Americans moving from India. You cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I’m not joking."
- Conservative pundit David Brooks (who’s an idiot) loves him
- Oh, and he voted for the war (remind me again why Hillary’s vote was a dealbreaker but not his? Nothing to do with sexism, I’m sure).
- And he’s only 6 years younger than McCain (since ageism is the new Obama campaign strategy… not surprising since sexism worked so well in the primary).
- Biden is a big time promoter of the war on drugs.
On the positive side, Delaware’s 3 electoral votes (which were always expected to go to Obama) will sure put that ticket over the top. Apart from that, Biden brings exactly nothing to the ticket expect. He ensures that women’s issues are definitely thrown out and women stay stuck at the back of the bus.
There you have it, folks, the great bamboozle of 2008, brought to you by the Democratic leadership.
Let’s be clear, this is not a liberal / progressive ticket.
All of you who voted for Obama in the primary, you’ve been had and now we’re all screwed because of your political naivete and gullibility… but you’re all young and hip, and you got excited about politics for the first time, and Obama makes you feel good about yourself, so, I guess it’s all good.

Biden also was one of 3 Democrats who voted for W’s bankruptcy bill.
